RICHFIELD TWP. — Ofc. Brenda Flasher has joined the Richfield Township Police Department.

Flasher, a 2013 graduate of Oxford High School, attended Lake Superior State University from 2012-2017, holds a Bachelor’s of Science and Criminal Justice Law Enforcement degree and associate’s degrees in science and criminal homeland security and criminal justice law enforcement.

A former officer with Allied Universal Security at the Genesee Valley Center, Flasher also performed a 100- hour internship with the Sault St. Marie Police Department and completed the Mott Community College Law Enforcement Regional Training Academy in June of 2020

Richfield Township Police Chief Tony Craig said Flasher joined the department July 21.

“(Flasher) is always smiling and has a positive attitude,” said Craig. “She’s always connecting with people and her academic achievements are a good reason to hire her. She’s a good fit for our department.”

Flasher is currently in field training and will be on patrol in the community in the near future. — By Gary Gould
