FLINT TWP. — A fundraiser to reopen Pirates Park in Flint Township will be held on April 9 from the Pirates Park site on 4175 Miller Road. There will be food, music, bounce houses and games from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., along with a variety of video games and carnival games—some free, some pay to play. Guests will also enjoy a talent show, a DJ, karaoke/open mic, vendors and prize opportunities.
Organizers are aiming to reopen Pirates Park with a phase 1 plan, which includes mini-golf, batting cages, an expanded arcade, a full-service restaurant and a performance venue.
Pirates Park has also launched an online Kickstarter campaign with the goal of raising $168,400 to begin renovations. Donations can be made at www.kickstarter.com/projects/piratespark/pirates-park. — B.G.
