DAVISON — After two years without a pageant, a new Miss Davison was named June 16 when Allison Widmann, 16, a junior at Davison High School, went home with the crown.

The Miss Davison 2022 Court will include Sophie Bossi, 16, a senior at Powers Catholic High School, and Sydney Schneider, 18, a graduate of Davison High School.

Schneider also won the title Miss Congeniality.

Widmann succeeds Miss Davison 2019 Sophia Biazza, who served in the position for 1,085 days because of the pandemic lockdown which cancelled both the 2020 and 2021 pageants.

The pageant was also a night of milestones with the announcement this would likely be the last Miss Davison pageant held in the Davison High School auditorium, which will be repurposed by the school district once the new performing arts center is built on the southwest side of the school.

Also, the pageant marked the last event retiring auditorium coordinator Tom Tuttle would work.

Tuttle served the district for more than 50 years, first as a teacher and then as auditorium coordinator since 2008.

He also worked as a driver’s education instructor and helped many classes plan and work on their proms over the years.

Tuttle was recognized for his years of service by Jennifer Ragnone, a 2003 Miss Davison Court member and one of the co-directors of the pageant.

She is also the daughter of the late Dr. Robert Amble who was superintendent of Davison schools when Tuttle was hired. — G.G.
