PHILADELPHIA — Former Olympic runner and Grand Blanc track star Geena (Gall) Levoe will be receiving another prestigious honor, this time for her collegiate career at the University of Michigan.

Levoe, a member of the 2007 Michigan Women’s 4×1500-meter relay team, will be inducted into the Penn Relays Wall of Fame Class of 2023 this April along with teammates Katie Erdman, Anna Willard and Nicole Edwards.

Levoe and her team, dubbed the “Fab Four,” ran the fastest time in world history in the 4×1500-meter relay in 2007 and broke the 17-year-old Penn Relays and national collegiate record. Coached by Mike McGuire, the team set a time of 17:15.62 to break the old records by two and one-half seconds.

As a Wolverine, Levoe won two NCAA titles in the 800-meter category and was a 10-time All-American. She went on to compete for Team USA in the 2009 World Championships in Berlin and the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Levoe fell short of qualifying for the 2016 Olympics, finishing 24th at Olympic Track and Field Trials.

At Grand Blanc, Levoe won backto back Class A state titles in the 800 meters in 2004-05 and was named Gatorade Michigan Track Athlete of Year in 2004. She was also a three-time national champion while in high school, winning the Nike Outdoor National and the Nike Indoor Nationals twice.

Levoe was elected to the Greater Flint Sports Hall of Fame Class in 2019.

The 2023 Penn Relays presented by Toyota is set for April 27-29 at the historic Franklin Field, where the Class of 2023 will be recognized and inducted into the Wall of Fame.
