Goodrich scored early and often and got things rolling immediately. After nearly returning the opening kickoff to the house, Jacob Wagner’s quarterback keeper found pay dirt from four yards out. After forcing a turnover on downs, the offense got back to work, as Wagner dropped back and hit Tyson Davis, who took it 50 yards for the score.

The Martians capped off the first quarter with another Wagner touchdown, this time on a one-yard plunge. Wagner then crossed the goal line early in the second frame on a seven-yard scamper before Jordan Viers finished the first-half fireworks with a four-yard touchdown for a 34-0 lead at the break.

The momentum carried over with Goodrich opening the third-quarter scoring with a two-yard run by Tucker Reickel. Bendle finally stopped the bleeding with a 17-yard touchdown run, but Goodrich notched one more score on a 10-yard jaunt by Aaron Moore. Bendle added one more cosmetic touchdown, a 28-yard pass.

Wagner went 6-for-9 for 115 yards and a touchdown while adding three rushing scores and Viers racked up 52 yards and a touchdown. Davis only had two receptions, but went for 67 yards and a touchdown. He also had 41 yards on two punt returns.

Goodrich, 5-2, looks to seal a playoff berth tomorrow when it hosts Haslett.
