Pizza Challenge 5K Run & Walk & Lil’ Pepperoni quarter mile

FLINT — A 5k run & hosted by Bauman’s Running and Walking Shop will be held Aug. 9 from 6:30 - 9:30 p.m. at the Flint YMCA, 411 E. 3rd Street to benefit the Flint YMCA and the Riverbend Striders running Club. The race includes free pizza following the race for all registered participants. Three Pekes in a Pod

FLINT — Don’t miss the World Premiere of “Three Pekes in a Pod” Aug. 9 and 10 at 6 p.m. in the Mott Memorial Building Auditorium, 1401 E. Court Street. This is a musical story of three Pekingese dogs who move into a new neighborhood filled with different breeds of dogs representing different cultures. Admission is free, but dog food donations are being accepted for Genesee County Human Society and Amazing Grace Animal Shelter. Quincy Dobbs. Free and open to the public. Team Adalyn hosts CHD fundraiser

GENESEE COUNTY — Multiple Genesee County locations will host fundraising events to benefit Congenital Heart Defect research this upcoming weekend, Aug. 10-12. The Spread Your Sparkle event benefits the Adalyn Sparkle Heart Fund at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital for the advancement of critical research into treatments for CHD.
