Grand Blanc, Goodrich softball seasons end

Photo by Dan Brovont DAVISON -- Grand Blanc was knocked out by Lapeer 7-3 in the Div. 1 district semifinal on Saturday. On the other side of the bracket, Davison beat the Flint Jaguars 1-0. Lapeer went on to win the district title 7-2 over Davison. No stats or details for Grand Blanc were reported.

Lapeer will travel to Saginaw Valley State on Saturday to take on Alpena in the regional semifinal at noon. With a victory, they will play for a regional championship against the winner of Bay City Western- Swartz Creek at 2 p.m. — J.O.

Div. 2 at Flint Powers

The Goodrich softball season came to an early end as the Lady Martians were defeated 10-7 by Linden in the district opener last Wednesday.

Linden eventually went on to district final, where it lost to Flint Powers 7-2. Linden defeated Brandon 10-5 in the semifinal while Flint Powers cruised past Lake Fenton to a 9-0 final in the other semifinal.

Flint Powers moves on to face Eaton Rapids in the regional semifinal on Saturday. The winner will play either DeWitt or Owosso in the title game. – K.R.
