Girls’ lacrosse seasons end

LAKE ORION – The Grand Blanc girls’ lacrosse team fell 16-5 to Clarkston during last Wednesday’s Div. 1 regional semifinal matchup at Lake Orion. Individual stats were not reported.

Clarkston advanced to take on Hartland, which defeated Lake Orion 20-6 to advance to the regional final. Hartland came away with a 16-12 win to move on to the semifinals against Rockford. The other two teams remaining include Brighton and Bloomfield Hills. The winners will play for the state title Saturday at Grand Ledge at 2 p.m.

Div. 2 at Grand Ledge

The Goodrich/Lake Fenton co-op girls’ lacrosse team saw its season come to a close after 20-3 loss to Okemos in the Div. 2 regional semifinal at Grand Ledge last Wednesday. Individual stats were not reported.

In the other semifinal, DeWitt defeated Holt 12-3 to advance to the regional final, where Okemos would take the title with a 14-3 victory. Okemos now faces East Grand Rapids in the state semifinals.

The winner will play either Farmington Hills Mercy or Cranbrook Kingswood for the state title Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Grand Ledge.
