Man arrested on drug charges

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 11 at approximately 3:57 a.m., an officer on patrol at Grand Blanc Road and S. Dort Highway observed a 37-year-old Davisburg male fail to stop at the light. A traffic stop was initiated and the driver was asked to step out of the vehicle. The driver claimed he was on his way to a Flint strip club to meet an old girlfriend. He consented to a search of his vehicle which turned up a broken crack pipe and some cocaine beneath the driver’s seat, confirmed by K-9. The suspect admitted to the pipe but not the drugs and said he hasn’t used in 90 days. He was arrested for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Cocaine and lodged in the Flint City Jail. — P.S.

Man arrested for OUI after driving 82 in a 45 mph zone

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 10 at 1:19 a.m., an officer on patrol n the 1400 block of Maple Road clocked a 23-year-old Flint male traveling 82 in a 45 mph zone and initiated a traffic stop. The man initially claimed to have drank two beers, but later admitted to three beers and a shot while playing pool. He failed field sobriety tests and scored .12 on the Preliminary Breath Test. He was arrested on suspicion of Operating Under the Influence and scored a .15 on a subsequent Blood Alcohol Level test and was lodged in the Genesee County jail. — P.S.

Shoplifter and getaway driver detained

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 11 at 7:41 p.m. in the 6300 block of S. Saginaw, officers responded to a report of Retail Fraud and pursued a white Chevrolet Traverse which had gone south on Dort Highway. They initiated a traffic stop on the suspects, a 33-year-old Holly female and the driver, her husband, who was found to be driving with a Suspended License. Upon return to the store, Loss Prevention said they observed the female select a camera and attempt to remove the attached security device, then selected two articles of clothing, placed them both in a store brand bag and left the last point of sale on her way out the door. At that point loss prevention attempted to get her to return to the store and she had thrown the bag back in the store and left. She was arrested and lodged in the Flint City jail on charges of Retail Fraud. — P.S.
