GOODRICH

BOYS: The Goodrich/Lake Fenton co-op boys’ lacrosse team won a hard-fought road game against Brandon/Holly last Friday, 10-8.

Isaac Burr led the team with four goals and Owen Cleary had three. Tyler Hitchcock was 7-for-10 at the face-off and Josh Hockin had 12 saves in net.

“Although we are 2-5 on the year, we have lost two tough games in overtime and are a few shots away from being 4-3,” said Goodrich coach Tyler Stephens. “We are vastly improving and the last two weeks here are going to be fun to watch.”

The co-op hosted Ovid-Elsie on Wednesday. – A.V.

GIRLS: The Goodrich/Lake Fenton co-op girls’ lacrosse team hosted Ovid- Elsie on Monday, but scores were not reported.

Last Thursday, the co-op’s home game against Davison was canceled due to weather.

The team hosted Davison on Wednesday and is at Waterford Kettering on Monday. – A.V.

GRAND BLANC

BOYS: Despite a three-goal performance from Caden Smith, the Grand Blanc boys’ lacrosse team took a 10-7 loss at Salem on Monday.

Mitchell Baggett, Kevin LaHaie and Drake Chamarro each chipped in with one goal. Colton Alexander and Cody Balow both had two forced turnovers and Anthony Andreski and LaHaie both had one. Parker Macco made 19 saves.

Last Friday, Grand Blanc dropped a road game to Davison, 17-5.

Tre Sly led the Bobcats with two goals and Taylor Mack, Andreski and Chamarro each chipped in with one. Mack also had three assists and Smith had one. Macco had 14 saves.

Last Wednesday, the Bobcats swallowed a 10-0 loss at Plymouth, though the game was called at halftime due to lightning.

Grand Blanc hosted Novi on Wednesday and is at Flint Powers tomorrow. – A.V.

GIRLS: The Bobcats won 10-6 on the road at Salem on Monday. Stats were not available.

Last Friday, Grand Blanc won at home in convincing fashion 19-2 over Flushing.

Mariah Foote led the team with five goals and three assists and Jillian Brandon and Tayler Harms both had three goals apiece and each had one assist. Paige Yerian had two goals with eight assists, Sophie Hamelink had two goals with two assists and Ashley McLane scored twice with four assists. Defensively, Foote, Jordyn Wainio and McLane all had six ground balls with Wainio adding seven interceptions. Abby Stanley had 16 saves.

Last Wednesday, the Lady Bobcats defeated Plymouth 11-8 at home.

Brandon led the offense with five goals and Yerian and Harms both chipped in with two apiece. Hamelink scored once along with Foote, who had five assists, Hamelink had four and Harms and Yerian two each. Sarah Price led the team with six takeaways with five ground balls. McLane and Foote both had seven ground balls apiece and Wainio had three with three interceptions and four takeaways. Stanley had 19 saves.

Grand Blanc was at Novi Wednesday and is at Flint Powers tomorrow. – A.V.
