Gravel trucker, owner cited

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 5 at approximately 8:30 a.m., several drivers in the area of I-75 and S. Dort Highway reported property damage from rocks which fell off a gravel truck. They were able to motion the truck driver to pull over, to get a picture of him, the truck, damage and rocks all over the road before the driver told them it want his problem and drove off. Complainants included three males, a 57-year-old of Midland, 50-year-old of Toledo, Ohio, and a 46-year-old from Holly. Officers reported to the business in the 6000 block of Belford Road, Holly, which owned the truck and the driver and owner were both cited for failure to secure their load. Woman with three children arrested for OUIL

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 4 at 856 p.m., officers were called to the 6500 block of Kings Pointe Road for a report of a vehicle stuck in someone’s yard and found a 32-year-old Flint woman who was attempting to extricate her vehicle from a landscaped area with rocks in it. They observed her put several pieces of gum in her mouth after their arrival and upon approaching the car found, three unsecured small children in the vehicle. She denied drinking but refused a Preliminary Breath Test and field sobriety tests were terminated for her safety as she was unable to remain upright. She was arrested on suspicion of Operating Under the Influence of Liquor and taken to a local hospital for a blood draw Blood Alcohol Level test. Additional charges for child endangerment may be pursued depending on results of lab work. The children were released to their grandparents. — P.S.

Suspected shoplifters arrested

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On May 2 at 7:35 p.m. in the 6100 block of S. Saginaw, officers responded to a report of Retail Fraud where loss prevention officers had detained a 19-year-old Flint female and a 25-year-old Flint male who had been observed in the self-scan area, bagging grocery items without paying for them, valued at $137.82. They admitted to the theft after being read their rights and were arrested and lodged in the Flint City jail on charges of Retail Fraud. — P.S.
