Chamber Family Fun Fest is moving!

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Chamber Family Fun Fest, set for June 7-11, is moving locations to the northern parking lot of Grand Blanc High School on Saginaw St. The festival, now in its 12th year, will have the same attractions as in years past, with more than 22 rides and concessions.

“We knew going in that using Reid Road and Grand Boulevard was always a gift for us to be able to host the Family Fun Fest there,” said Chamber President Jet Kilmer. “The city has tenants who want to move into the area, and that is all good for Grand Blanc.”

Along with rides, concessions, games and entertainment, the Grand Blanc Chamber Family Fun Fest will hold a fireworks display on Friday, June 8 at 10 p.m. The festival will also still hold The McDonald’s Princess & Superhero parade, open to all children who wish to dress in their favorite costume. The Teal Track & Trail Race will be held next to the festival grounds.

The entertainment tent will also have a new home this year, as Holy Family Church will be hosting the tent, which will include activities, music, food, beer and beverages. The festival will also hold family-oriented games and activities for all ages.

“With construction (at the former location) starting in April, we knew there would not be room for the rides, concessions, games, plus a beer tent,” said Kilmer. “So, when the city told me they had sold some of the property, I spoke with JP Adams and Superintendent Clarence Garner about using the high school’s parking lot. We discussed that the festival occurs while school is still open, but the seniors will be finished and the school will have less need for the parking area.”

More information will soon be available from the Chamber of Commerce. Visit their website at www.grandblancchamber.com. Those who wish to volunteer should call Amanda Young at the Chamber at 810-695-4222 with the dates and times they are available to help.
