Jackarus Smith led Grand Blanc with 18 points and Mark Miller put up 10 points. Goliath Mitchell totaled nine points, Lon Martin added eight, Cameron Cyborowski had six and Cedric Givens five.

The Bobcats finished off the regular season in style with a 69-64 win over Novi in the overall Kensington Lakes Activities Association championship game last Thursday. The Bobcats are now the only program in KLAA history to win multiple boys’ basketball title on their way out the door as they move on to the Saginaw Valley League next season.

Grand Blanc gained the lead in the second quarter and never fell behind again. Mitchell led the way with a game-high 25 points, Smith poured in 18 and Martin added 12. Miller scored six, Givens and Cyborowski each added three and Kortez Toles two.

“These guys – they’ played their butt off. The good thing about it is – when you write down goals and actually accomplish them – that’s the most special part about it,” said coach Mike Thomas. “I take my hat off to these guys just for believing and staying within our system and having faith in one another.”

Grand Blanc was back at the Carman- Ainsworth district yesterday, following press deadlines, against Swartz Creek. With a win, the Bobcats will advance to Friday’s district title game.

GOODRICH: The Martians playoffs started yesterday after press deadlines against host Flint Powers Catholic. The winner advances to Friday’s district championship game against either LakeVille or Lake Fenton.
