Male nabbed in alleged TV theft

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On Jan. 28 at 6:06 p.m. officers were called to the 6100 block of S. Saginaw for a report of retail fraud. Upon arrival, loss prevention officers stated they observed a 24-year-old Mundy Twp. male attempting to leave the store with a flat screen television in his cart. He was caught in the foyer area and was detained for police. Upon interview, he stated he made a mistake and he was waiting for a friend to bring the money for the TV. The item was valued at $398 and the male was lodged on suspicion of retail fraud in the Flint City Jail. — P.S.

Late night party lands female with OWI charges

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On Jan. 28 at approximately 6:16 a.m., officers on patrol in the area of S. Saginaw and Hill Road observed a 2004 Pontiac approaching the intersection from the stopped traffic side, notice the red light and slam to a stop in the middle of the intersection and then back up. The driver, a 21-year-old Birch Run female, then proceeded when the light turned green. Officers followed and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle was pulled over and the driver, was found to smell of the odor of intoxicants and had glassy, watery eyes. Field sobriety tests were administered and failed, and she scored a .10 on the Preliminary Breath Test. She admitted to having partied until approximately 3 a.m. and scored two .12 Blood Alcohol Levels on subsequent chemical breath tests. Her vehicle was towed and a search found her in possession of hydrocodone pills which she admitted she stole from a family friend, as well as marijuana edibles. She was arrested and lodged at the Genesee County jail. — P.S.

B & E investigated

GRAND BLANC TWP. — On Jan. 26, at 8:47 p.m., in the 2000 block of Maple Road, officers were called to investigate a breaking and entering of a home. The victims said they had left the house at approximately 11 a.m. and just returned home. They initially noted the living room TV was laying face down, as well as the bedroom TV, and then noted a cabinet in another bedroom had open drawers pulled out and reported $1,700 in cash was missing. Officers took fingerprints at the back door and other photos. The incident is pending further investigation. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 810-424-2611. — P.S.
