Sneller and Genesee Health Plan to host health insurance enrollment event

GRAND BLANC — Genesee Health Plan (GHP) today announced they will host a free Health Insurance Enrollment Forum with State Rep. Tim Sneller on Dec. 9 at the Grand Blanc Senior Center, 12623 Pagels Dr., off Holly Road (near Grand Blanc High School) from 10 a.m.-1:30 p.m.

During the forum, residents will receive help navigating the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace, the Genesee Health Plan, Healthy Michigan, Medicaid and Flint Health Insurance for those impacted by Flint water.

GHP staff will be available to answer questions and give one-on-one enrollment assistance to residents. Attendees will be able to compare all coverage options and enroll in a plan that best fits their needs.

“Our number one goal at the Genesee Health Plan is to make sure all residents have access to quality health coverage,” said GHP President and CEO Jim Milanowski. “The deadline for enrolling in healthcare coverage is quickly approaching, so we encourage anyone who has questions about healthcare or needs help with enrolling into coverage to attend the forum.”

The deadline to enroll in healthcare coverage through the Healthcare Marketplace is Dec. 15 with healthcare coverage beginning Jan. 1. In order for coverage to take effect Jan. 1, individuals must enroll into health coverage, find a plan and pay their premiums by Dec. 15.

“Making sure residents are enrolled in quality healthcare coverage is a key part of supporting good community health and keeping our community healthy,” said State Rep. Sneller. “I am looking forward to hosting this event with Genesee Health Plan and making sure residents have the information and assistance they need to get enrolled in the right healthcare coverage by Dec. 15.”
