The regional was originally scheduled for last Wednesday, but inclement weather postponed the regional until the next day.

The top three teams and the top three individuals not on a qualifying team advance to the Div. 1 state finals at the Meadows at Grand Valley State University on Oct. 21 and 22.

Brighton, the only Div. 1 ranked team in attendance, took first with 309. Hartland was second with 339 and Grand Blanc took third with 353. Grand Blanc’s Erin Walter led the team, firing an 85 and was ninth overall as an individual. Cameryn Cass and Madison Brigance both carded 88s, tied for 14th as individuals. Katherin Mansour shot a 92 and Haley Truchan 108.

The individual qualifiers include Brooke Gibbons, Lapeer, who carded an 81, and Kaylee Hirschman, Grand Ledge, and Nateda Her, Holt, both qualified with 84s.

At the upcoming state final, Grand Blanc will face a tough field of teams. Brighton was the top qualifying team, seven strokes ahead of the next qualifying team, Traverse City West, Bloomfield Hills, Clarkston, East Kentwood, Farmington Hills Mercy, Grosse Pointe South, Hartland, Hudsonville, Lake Orion, Livonia Franklin, Northville, Plymouth, Rochester, Rochester Hills Stoney Creek, Saline and Utica Eisenhower all secured spots at the Div. 1 final. – K.R.

GOODRICH: The Lady Martians finished fourth overall with 370 in a field of nine teams in the Division 3 Region 18 finals last Thursday. Lutheran North was first overall with 346, Powers Catholic was the runner up with 350 and Marysville was third with 368. The Goodrich girls did not advance as a team, as only the top three schools move on to the state championship round. However, Elizabeth Gibbs carded an 88 and finished eighth overall, which will secure her a spot in the state finals as a top-three individual finisher not on a qualifying team.

The other individual qualifiers were Olivia Pumford, Freeland, and Gabriella Locke, Armada, who both shot an 87 and tied for sixth overall.

Morgan Swett was just a spot behind Gibbs, finishing with 90 in a three-way tie for ninth place. Bailey Bryant also shot a 93 and finished 14th overall. Halle Moore and Madeline Swett rounded out Goodrich, shooting a 99 and 112. – J.O.
