Grand Blanc 23rd at state swim meet

ROCHESTER – The Grand Blanc boys swim team placed 23rd at the Div. 1 state meet at Oakland University Saturday. Thirty three teams were in the mix and Birmingham Brother Rice won the title with 238 points. Ann Arbor Skyline was second with 212 and Saline was third with 202. Grand Blanc had 20 points.

In the 200 medley relay prelims, Jonah Curtis, Max Whitmore, JD Walker and Kay Whitmore were 21st in 1:39.76. Curtis placed 30th in the prelims of the 200 IM in 2:02.71. K. Whitmore was 28th in the 50 free prelims in 22.31 and Tai Sims was 16th in the diving finals with 338.30 points. Walker was 16th in the B-final of the 100 fly in 52.98. Walker, Jarod Williams, M. Whitmore and K. Whitmore were 24th in the 200 free relay prelims in 1:29.70. K. Whitmore was 14th in the 100 backstroke B-final in 53.69. Curtis was 29th in the prelims in 55.11.
