Artist Reception to be held

GRAND BLANC — The public is invited to a special reception for artist Margrit Schlatter on Jan. 16, from 4-6 p.m. sponsored by the Grand Blanc Arts Council and hosted by the Grafted Root Eatery in the Coach Stop Plaza in Grand Blanc. Paintings by the artist will also be on display through March at the restaurant during normal business hours are 9-4 Tues, Wed, Sat and Sun; and 9-9 Thurs and Fri. — P.S.

Good times in Goodrich Euchre Tourney Fundraiser

GOODRICH — A Good times in Goodrich Euchre Tournament Fundraiser will be held Jan. 16 at 6:30 p.m. at The Bull Ring Sports Grille, 8234 S. State Rd. The cost is $22 per person and includes eight rounds of play, taco bar, door prizes, & prize money. A cash bar will be available. Community Homeowners Forum meeting

GRAND BLANC TWP. — The Grand Blanc Community Homeowners Forum will host its monthly meeting on Jan. 20 at 6:30 p.m. in the Township Police Department Community Room. One of the topics of discussion is the new township position on snowplowing. Please join us for this special meeting. This meeting, like all other Homeowners forum meetings, is held on the third Wednesday of the month, and is open to the public; hope to see you there and at future meetings. — P.S.

Mackinac Island documentary to be shown

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Heritage Association will present a public program Jan. 25 at 7 p.m. The documentary Ice Bridge: Mackinac Island’s Hidden Season will be shown. Familiar to many for its summertime tourist attractions, Mackinac Island’s year-around population has a unique wintertime lifestyle. In the frigid months of the year, Nature allows it to become part of the Michigan mainland. The program will be held at the Grand Blanc Heritage Museum, 203 E. Grand Blanc Road. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
