Schmidt The annual Goodrich Downtown Christmas event, held the first Thursday in December is organized by Patty Plant, owner of Cranberries Café, and her committee, which includes Marla Millar of the Yellow Dog Marketplace and The Goodrich Friends of the Library group. As usual, this year’s event was fantastic according to Atlas Township Supervisor Shirley Kautman-Jones. Santa was on hand, as well as speaking and a short prayer service by the Lakeview Community Church, and carols by the Goodrich United Methodist church choir. The River church provided a live nativity with shepherds and animals who wandered through the crowds.

Santa was a delight to young and old, including these two young people who were overheard asking for world peace. We think he might have been serious, too!
