YMCA kicks off camping month with preview events

FLINT — YMCA Camp Copneconic has kicked off 100 days until the start of summer camp and Michigan Y Camp Month. Camp staff will be at several events throughout the community to celebrate Michigan Y Camp Month and to begin celebrating the 100th anniversary of camping at the local camp.

This summer, YMCA Camp Copneconic is offering kids an enriching, learning experience to help them get more out of summer break — more friendships, more accomplishments and more belonging.

Parents can get a head start in signing up their children this March during Michigan Y Camp Month — a celebration of Y camping throughout the state that gives families a taste of the camp experience and how it can benefit youth of all ages.

A free preview of the camp is open to the public March 15 from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. and families can experience an afternoon ‘sampler’ of exciting camp programs and activities, meet the staff and tour the facility. Additional previews will take place April 26 and May 31. Register for a preview online at www.campcopneconic.org. Details: Call 810-232-9622 or 810-629-9622. — G.G.
