Halsey Old-Timer Band to play Food Bank fundraiser

FLINT — On Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. the Halsey United Methodist Church HOT band will be playing at the Riverside Tabernacle in Flint to raise money for the church’s storehouse and food pantry. The group will be playing a variety of gospel, classic country, bluegrass, blues and old time songs. The church is located at 429 Chavez Dr. in Flint, across from U of M on the other side of I-475. — P.S.

PTO’s Haunted Forest and Trunk or Treat Oct. 17

GOODRICH — The Goodrich PTO is hosting a Haunted Forest and Trunk or Treat on Oct. 17, from 6-8pm at Oaktree Forest (behind the baseball fields). Cost is $5 per family. $1 for donuts, cider & hot chocolate. — P.S.

Historic District Commission fall activities

GRAND BLANC — On Oct. 19 the Grand Blanc Historic District Commission will have a display at the Farmer’s Market to inform residents of their activities including a fall tour of the Perry Historic home which will include a tour of the house and grounds, an archaeological dig, display of the master plans and renovations, as well as historically costumed characters and other activities and refreshments. — P.S.

Fall Cleanup/recycling at the Farmers Market

GRAND BLANC — On Sunday Oct. 19 Safe Harbor Recycling will be offering residents a final chance to recycle for the season at the Grand Blanc Farmers Market. They will be accepting electronics, scrap metal, appliances (even with Freon), batteries & anything with a plug (no picture tubes) this Sunday from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Grand Blanc Farmers Market. VFW Fish Fry

GRAND BLANC TWP. — VFW Post 822 located at 5065 South Saginaw St. (near the intersection of Dort Hwy.) hosts a weekly Fish Fry every Friday 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Diners can order Cod or Walleye , French fries, or Onion rings and a salad bar ( no salad bar with to go orders). We also do to go orders phone is 810-742-1995. Karaoke starts at 8:00 p.m. following the Fish Fry — P.S.
