Moo Cow to stay open year round

GOODRICH —Straying from the norm has always worked for the Moo Cow, 8233 S. State Rd., so the decision to stay open through the winter to satisfy customer cravings, doesn't surprise too many folks.

Coupled with the rarity of an ice cream parlor being open all year, there are some creative menu additions.

Husband and wife owners, Stephanie Jones, a Goodrich native, and Justin Gailitis, took ideas from friends and customers when it came to new menu items.

“A friend of ours told us about these phenomenal hot cocoa floats she and her family had in northern Michigan, so we decided to give it a whirl but kick it up a notch,” said Jones.

The hot cocoa floats include Ashby’s award winning peppermint crackle ice cream and Belgian drinking chocolate from the Crust Bake House of Fenton.

In addition to the unique floats, Moo Cow will be offering loaded chocolate drinks complete with a chocolate dipped candy cane and homemade marshmallows from the Crust. Moo Cow will also feature “Crust Fresh Fridays”. Every Friday, fresh Crust baked goods are brought in for purchase.

Moo Cow will take special orders for Crust products, including for the holidays. Located across from the Bull Ring, Moo Cow will be open Friday, 4-9 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday, 1-9 p.m.
