Grand Blanc man arrested for drug possession

GRAND BLANC TWP. — A 35-year-old Grand Blanc man was arrested for alleged possession of crack cocaine after being stopped for a routine traffic violation.

According to the police report, officers stopped the man in his 1999 Pontiac Bonneville near the corner of Hill and Center roads at 9:36 p.m. on Aug. 20. When police made contact with the man, his eyes were bloodshot and glossy and a strong odor of intoxicants was coming from the car. When officers asked for consent to search the man, he appeared nervous before replying, “oh man, I am caught.”

Police found 1.07 grams of crack cocaine on the man. He also blew a .17 on the township data master test. The man was arrested and lodged at the Genesee County Jail.

Man nabs earrings for daughter

GRAND BLANC TWP. — A man Flint was cited for retail fraud after attempting to steal $30 worth of earrings.

The incident occurred at 3:16 p.m. on Aug. 25 at Kohls, 6300 S. Saginaw Street. Security for Kohls said they say the 18-year-old enter the store with two other individuals and saw the man take some earrings and conceal them in his boxers.

When questioned by police, the man told police his daughter had just gotten her ears pierced and he wanted to get her some earrings, but did not have the money to pay for them.

The man was cited and released.

Man extradited to Pa. on shoplifting warrant

GRAND BLANC TWP. — A man driving on a suspended license was extradited to Pennsylvania on a shoplifting warrant.

According to the police report, a 55-year-old Flint man’s 1994 Mercury Topaz brokedown near I- 475 and Hill Road at 10:57 a.m. on Aug. 22. Police stopped to assist the man who said his nephew was coming to help him. Police ran the man’s license through their system and found that the man was driving on a suspended license and had a warrant for his arrested out of Pennsylvania for shoplifting. As police took the man into custody, his nephew, a 31-year-old Flint man arrived on scene in a red Pontiac. Police ran his number and found he was driving on a suspended license.

The 31-year-old was cited and released. The 55- year-old was extradited to Pennsylvania.— Compiled by Amanda Braniecki
