Local artist’s work shown at Boundless Arts

GRAND BLANC — Tonya Follis, a Grand Blanc High School graduate and award-winning artist, will feature 22 original paintings at Boundless Arts on Oct. 7. The showcase runs from 6:30-9 p.m. and Follis will be giving away one free 8x10 original painting. All are invited to attend. Boundless Arts is located at 11235 Saginaw St., in the Coach Stop Stores. Crop till you drop planned at Kirkridge

GRAND BLANC — A scrapbooking event will be held at Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, 8070 S Saginaw Rd., Nov. 19 from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. All proceeds going toward the FISH Christmas Baskets. The $35 crop fee will include: lunch, dinner and snacks; a special “Thank You” bag; and a chance to win prizes. Space available for 12 hours to crop ‘til you drop! GB Area Toastmasters Fall Speech contest winners

GRAND BLANC — The Grand Blanc Area Toastmasters held its annual Fall Speech Contest Sept. 20, which included Tall Tales and Table Topics. There were two Tall Tales contestants and five Table Topics contestants. Scott Hammond was the Tall Tales winner with his speech, “Mekong Mayhem,” and Robin Riddell, was the Table Topics winner. Winners will compete at the Area 10 & 11(E Division) contest on Oct. 8 at 10 a.m. located at Baker College, 1116 W. Bristol Rd., Flint. All Toastmasters contests are open to the public. All participants received a certificate of participation. Other contestants included Chris Auger, Angie Bahan, Mark Foran, Laura McQuillan and Mervin Webb. To join the Grand Blanc Area Toastmasters, the club meets promptly at 7-8:30 p.m. Tuesday evenings in the auditorium of Genesys Medical Center, 1 Genesys Parkway. Mom2Mom sale planned

GOODRICH — The Goodrich High School Class of 2012 hosts a Fall Mom2Mom Sale, Nov. 5, from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tables are available for moms to sell gently used children's items and maternity wear. Also, vendors offering items or services related to children and/or women's interests are welcome to join. Rent an 8' table for $15 each and bring your own rack for $5 each. All larger items (furniture, strollers, large toys, etc.) can be placed in our Large Item Room for the fee of $2 each. Our workers register your items, prepare them for display, keep the selling area neat and secure, and sell the items for you while you are busy selling at your table.
