Grand Blanc, Goodrich schedule homecoming parades, activities

GRAND BLANC — With the students settled back into school after the summer break, the local high schools are gearing up for their annual homecoming activities.

Celebrating its school spirit all week in anticipation of the homecoming football game and dance this weekend, Grand Blanc High School has scheduled its homecoming parade for 5 p.m. on Sept. 23.

Those participating are asked to line up between 4 p.m.- 4:45 p.m. along Jewett Trail and the east campus tennis courts off of Holly Road. Like last year, the parade will begin at the tennis courts, go left onto Saginaw Street, left onto High Street and left onto Davis before ending at the Grand Blanc West High School parking lot.

As Grand Blanc wraps up their homecoming, Goodrich High School will begin the preparations for their homecoming spirit week.

Working around the theme of “Candyland,” Goodrich High School’s parade is set for 5 p.m. on Sept. 30.

Participants are asked to sign in with organizers between 4 p.m.- 4:30 p.m. in their designated area. The parade will start at Reid Road, down Hegel Road and end at the high school.

More information on the parades can be obtained from the respective high school offices. — A.B.
