CFGF lauded for excellence in communication

FLINT — Community Foundation of Greater Flint (CFGF) has been named a silver award winner for excellence in communications by the 2010 Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Program.

Sponsored by the Council on Foundations, the awards program recognizes effective communications efforts to increase public awareness of foundations and corporate giving programs.

The Community Foundation received the silver award for its 2008 annual report. The report highlighted CFGF’s 20th anniversary and its move to the Community Foundation Building in downtown Flint.

“It’s truly an honor and a privilege to be recognized by the Council on Foundations for our communications efforts,” said Kathi Horton, CFGF President. “The 2008 annual report was a positive reflection of our community’s generosity and how their investment in the community’s endowment has enabled the Community Foundation to make an impact over the past 20 years.”

Entries to the awards program included annual or biennial reports, electronic publications, magazines/periodicals, special reports, public information campaigns and websites. This year, 166 entries were submitted to the awards program.
